Bunnies by the Bay Wholesale
Build one story shoppers can understand.
Bunnies by the Bay works best when the store gives one collection enough room to speak: plush, book, lovey, and a reason for the gift. AmyFay Chandler represents the line in Tennessee and Kentucky through Tango Showroom.

From Cricket Island, with love.
Bunnies by the Bay began with two sisters in a small Washington fishing town and their grandmother’s stories about bunnies in the garden. Forty years later, those stories still shape every piece in the line.
The world behind the brand has a name: Cricket Island. It is the imagined home of every collection — Good Friends Farm, Camp Cricket, the Buddy Blankets, the Halloween and Holiday capsules — each character with a place in the larger world.
Every plush is finished by hand. Embroidered eyes. Blushed cheeks. Soft noses. Packaged for gift-giving from day one, and made to be loved hard and passed down.
The origin story
Everything can be rescued and mended.
Bunnies by the Bay began after real loss in a Washington fishing family. In 1983, the crab boats Altair and Americus were lost in the Bering Sea. Fourteen men died, including the founders' father, uncle, cousin, and childhood friends. The family story also carries the later loss of their baby brother, Tony Beirnes.
The company is dedicated to their grandmother Elsa Atterberry, known as Gram. She brought the girls into her sewing circle and told stories about bunnies in her garden. Those stories became comfort. The sewing became characters. The family island became Cricket Island, the world behind the brand.
That is why the line has more selling power than a generic plush shelf. Each character has a place in the world. Each book gives the store language. Each lovey or buddy blanket becomes part of a family's routine.
Bunnies by the Bay is all about story. The plush, books, lovies, and characters are how the brand turns comfort into something a shopper can carry home.
Best first story sets
Start with one story and go deep enough to matter.
For Tennessee and Kentucky gift stores, these are the most practical ways to open the line. A baby-only store may choose differently, but a gift store needs a table that sells with a clear reason.
Good Friends Farm
This is a strong current collection, and it fits inland gift stores beautifully. It reaches beyond baby: farm, texture, nostalgia, and broad-age appeal.
- Build around Clucky, Moo, Hammy, and Baby Farm.
- Add the farm-sounds board book for the story.
- Use Scraggle Fur as the touch-and-feel selling point.
Camp Cricket
Camp Cricket gives a store a softer woodland world with friendship, virtues, and characters that feel more specific than standard nursery plush. It is a strong fall and winter anchor.
- Lead with Cubby, Bruce, Smidgen, Foxy, and Blink.
- Pair plush with the Camp Cricket board book.
- Use the unlikely-friendship story as a staff talking point.
Buddy Blankets
This is the comfort category and the reorder engine. Buddy Blankets, Bye-Bye Buddies, Silly Buddies, Knotty Friends, and chimes make the baby shower and registry wall easier to shop.
- Use Buddy Blankets as the core.
- Add travel, pacifier, teether, and chime formats.
- Teach personalization as the registry upgrade.
Blossom, Skipit, and Nibble
This is the classic new-baby path: bunny, puppy, lamb, and soft neutrals. It is the safest place for a store that wants Bunnies by the Bay to read as a premium baby gift line.
- Use Blossom for pink and Skipit for gender-neutral gifting.
- Add Nibble bunnies in year-round and seasonal colors.
- Keep enough depth so the display looks intentional.
Heritage Gifts
This story serves grandparents, siblings, and milestone gift buyers. It shows Bunnies by the Bay as a story-driven book and gift line. The books give the store words to sell the moment.
- Feature What Will My Grandchild Call Me?
- Add Who Will Our New Baby Be? for older siblings.
- Merchandise books upright beside their plush pairings.
Holiday and Halloween
Seasonal capsules need early decisions because key-account preorders can eat allocation. Holiday is not the place for a tiny test. The retailer needs a clear capsule or should skip it.
- Halloween: Eek the Bat, Munch the Monster, and Boo Boo Kitty.
- Holiday: Rudie, Tidy Mouse, Santa, and the book.
- Order early enough to protect the store's allocation.
Display guidance
A good opening order looks like a little world.
The display should tell the customer where she has arrived. A farm table should feel like Good Friends Farm. A newborn table should feel like comfort, softness, and a name on a blanket. A woodland table should feel like Camp Cricket. Mixing too many worlds too early makes the store work harder.
Pick the story.
Choose Farm, Camp Cricket, Classic New Baby, Heritage, or Seasonal, then give that story enough space to make sense.
Add the book.
Books raise the gift value and give staff a simple customer-facing script.
Build depth.
Use plush, buddy blanket, lovey, chime, and book formats when the collection supports them.
Teach the staff.
The brand story should be part of the sale, especially for a baby shower or grandparent gift.

What kind of store is the best fit for Bunnies by the Bay?
Gift stores, baby boutiques, and lifestyle retailers that will commit a table or shelf to one collection rather than scatter individual SKUs. The line works when a store can build a small world a customer can shop.
What should a first Bunnies by the Bay order include?
Pick one collection to anchor the table — Good Friends Farm, Camp Cricket, or Skipit. Add the matching book or buddy blanket for depth. Then layer in Buddy Blankets, Bye-Bye Buddies, and chimes from the comfort category — that's the reorder engine for baby showers and registry.
What makes Bunnies by the Bay different from other baby plush lines?
Family-owned since 1986. Each collection is built around characters with names and stories, not generic plush. Camp Cricket gives a store a softer woodland world. Heritage gifts and holiday programs anchor fall and winter. The comfort category drives reorder.

How to order
The easy way: shop AmyFay’s catalog. She’ll key it into MarketTime.
Build a cart in AmyFay’s online catalog at your pace — price, pack size, and image for every SKU in the line. When you’re ready, send it to her one of two ways: Send for review if you’d like her to look first and suggest tweaks on story balance or pack sizes, or Send to submit if you already know what you want and just want it placed. Either way, AmyFay enters the order in MarketTime, sets freight terms, and confirms by email through Tango Showroom.
If you’d rather place it yourself through Tango, that path is open too — their order page lets you sign in to MarketTime or pick another route. The catalog is just the easier way for most retailers.
