The Cobblestone Living Story

When recalling their favorite travel memories, some people mention the food, the architecture, or meeting the locals. For Cobblestone Living’s founder, Rhonda Steger, the answer is always fashion. The dream of combining international travel with a fashion brand began on Rhonda’s first trip to France in 1990. She was drawn to the beautiful boutiques, patisseries, and flower markets that dotted the cobblestone streets of Paris. Ever since, Rhonda has felt a connection with the je ne sais quoi of casually elegant European style.

Years later, Rhonda opened a lifestyle boutique offering international wine, pastries, furniture, gifts, home accessories, and a few garments. Feeling disappointed and uninspired by the apparel on the market, she realized there was a need for a thoughtfully curated, approachable assortment of womenswear that would give women that same je ne sais quoi — an effortless approach to looking and feeling special.

In 2016, Rhonda embarked on her journey to founding Cobblestone Living. She hopped on a plane to Italy to develop the debut collection, which quickly became a mainstay in gift and apparel boutiques. From the beginning, Cobblestone’s products have been made in Italy, where Rhonda’s meticulous fabric sourcing journey began. Italian makers help the Cobblestone team craft authentic, artisanal pieces that bring European style Stateside.

At the heart of the brand lies the Romantic collection. While studying and observing styles around France and Italy, Rhonda became fascinated with the aesthetic of the Romantic Period. The collection is her modern interpretation of Romanticism — feminine and refined, with a whimsical Southern twist.

Cassandra Silk Top

Cassandra Silk Top — the pièce de résistance that started Cobblestone Living. Loose silk georgette overlay, viscose shell, banded hemline, classic fit, one size fits most. Made in Italy.
Cassandra Silk Top — Italian Silk Collection.

In Cobblestone’s own words: “Our iconic Cassandra Silk Top is the pièce de résistance that started it all.” The Cassandra was one of the first garments to debut in 2016, heavily inspired by Rhonda’s travels in Italy — and, as the brand notes, “to this day you’ll see team members wearing this style in and outside of the office.”

The construction is simple and intentional. A luxurious loose silk georgette overlay sits over a super comfortable viscose shell. The banded hemline adds a touch of sophistication, while the universally flattering fit makes it a wardrobe essential with everyday charm. Classic fit. One size fits most. Made in Italy.

The Cassandra is part of the mix-and-match Italian Silk assortment — pair it with the Madelyn Silk Pants for a head-to-toe elevated ensemble in coordinating colorways, or with a customer’s favorite jeans for an easy everyday moment. Either way, it captures what Cobblestone calls “the essence of the brand’s timeless elegance and versatility.”

The Full Line

Italian Silk is the backbone of the line, and it’s designed to mix and match. The Cassandra Silk Top, Madelyn Silk Pants, Martina Silk Top, Marianna Silk Top, Marina Silk Dress, and Mona Silk Topper all coordinate across colorways and silhouettes. Every silk piece is classic fit, one size fits most, with a loose silk layer over a soft viscose lining.

Madelyn Silk Pants — Italian silk with a comfortable foldable waistband and a flattering wide-leg cut. Classic fit, one size fits most. Made in Italy.
Madelyn Silk Pants — the Cassandra’s intended partner.

Knitwear extends the silk story into cooler weather. The Coletta Short Sleeve Sweater, the Cleo Knit Pants, and the Remi Shirt carry the line through fall and winter, and they double as travel wear — comfortable enough for a plane, polished enough for dinner when it lands.

Cotton and layering pieces round out the apparel side of the catalog, designed to sit under a Mona topper or over a Madelyn pant. New silhouettes and fabrications come in seasonally — Cobblestone’s own framing: “Because comfort is one of our top priorities, the Cobblestone Living team is constantly researching new fabrications and silhouettes.”

Jewelry, handbags, scarves, and belts now all ship on the same PO as the apparel. The jewelry assortment includes stackable necklaces and bracelets, tennis jewelry, and statement pieces designed to coordinate with the silk necklines. Italian leather handbags and sling bags complete the outfit the silks start — and purses can be ordered in ones.

How Cobblestone Living is made

Cobblestone’s own framing: “Our specialty lies in creating comfortable and elegant European-inspired garments with an added Southern flair.” Here’s what that looks like in practice.

Italian manufacturing, from the first collection. “From the beginning, Cobblestone’s products have been made in Italy, where Rhonda’s meticulous fabric sourcing journey began. Italian makers help us craft authentic, artisanal pieces that bring European style Stateside.” Silks, knitwear, cotton, and layering pieces are all sewn and finished in real Italian workrooms — not “designed in Italy, made somewhere else.” It’s the first thing retailers notice in the hand of the fabric.

The Romantic collection as design anchor. “At the heart of our brand lies the Romantic collection. While studying and observing styles around France and Italy, Rhonda became fascinated with the aesthetic of the Romantic Period. This collection provides a modern interpretation of Romanticism — feminine and refined, with a whimsical Southern twist.” It’s the design philosophy that threads through every silhouette in the catalog.

Mix-and-match color architecture. The Italian Silk assortment is designed to coordinate across silhouettes. In Cobblestone’s own product copy, the Madelyn pants are “available in stunning colorways that seamlessly coordinate with our effortless tops and cozy knitwear.” A customer picks up one silhouette, then comes back for the next colorway in the same coordinate family.

Classic fit, one size fits most. Every silk silhouette — Cassandra, Madelyn, Martina, Marianna, Marina, Mona — is designed to fit a wide range of bodies. It’s a harder design problem than cutting five sizes, and Cobblestone does that work once so retailers don’t have to stock size runs. The practical result: a full color and style story fits in a fraction of the floor space a traditional sized apparel line needs. A gift store can carry real Italian clothing without a full apparel department behind it.

Family-run attention. Rhonda is still the person flying to Italy to develop every collection. The team “is constantly researching new fabrications and silhouettes,” as Cobblestone puts it. Year after year, on a one-size-fits-most design discipline, in real Italian workrooms — that’s the through-line that makes the rack work in gift stores from St. Simons to Nashville.

Retailer FAQ: Cobblestone Living

Common questions from Tennessee and Kentucky retailers about carrying Cobblestone Living. Click any question to expand.

What is the wholesale opening order minimum for Cobblestone Living?

The opening order minimum is $500, and the reorder minimum is $300, with 2 per item. Apparel, jewelry, and handbags all ship on one PO. Purses can be ordered in ones. Reorder cadence is 42 days.

Where is Cobblestone Living available for wholesale in Tennessee and Kentucky?

AmyFay Chandler represents Cobblestone Living across Tennessee and Kentucky through Tango Showroom at AmericasMart in Atlanta. Contact AmyFay directly at [email protected] or (865) 217-6790 to set up a first order, walk a buying plan, or schedule a market appointment.

What does “one size fits most” mean for my store?

Every Cobblestone silhouette is classic fit and one size fits most — a design discipline that means every piece is built to work across a wide range of bodies. For retailers, that means a full color and style story fits in a fraction of the floor space a traditional sized apparel line needs. No size runs, no “unfortunately we’re out of your size” conversations, and no dead inventory at the end of a season.

Is Cobblestone Living really made in Italy?

Yes. In Cobblestone’s own words: “From the beginning, Cobblestone’s products have been made in Italy, where Rhonda’s meticulous fabric sourcing journey began. Italian makers help us craft authentic, artisanal pieces that bring European style Stateside.” Silks, knitwear, cotton, and layering pieces are all Italian-manufactured — not “designed in Italy, made somewhere else.”
