The Faceplant Story
Faceplant began with a memory. Founder Brigitte Farrell, on the About page in her own words: “I have early memories of skipping along the aisles of the fabric store with my eyes closed, my tiny hand gliding along the bolts of fabrics. This is where it began; my addiction to the smooth silks and buttery blends, my fingers pausing of their own volition.”
That fabric-store instinct grew into a company. In Brigitte’s own framing: “The comfort of a luxury fabric is an addiction many of us share. It’s why we custom knit the fabrics for our indulgent bamboo with the finest yarns available. Our buttery soft and breathable loungewear has a silky finish that will make more than your fingers pause.” Eighteen years later, those custom-knit fabrics are the thing retailers’ customers come back for.
Brigitte again, on being a woman-owned company: “The term woman-owned company is about more than ownership. In 2008, I birthed Faceplant and my son in the same week. It fills my heart to see them both flourishing. Thank you for nurturing our growth.”
The brand is based in Ybor City, Florida — what Brigitte calls “a unique hub of artists and dreamers filled with great coffee shops and neighborhood eats.” Every Faceplant item is designed, sampled, tested, and finalized in Ybor City, a year-long process per piece. The fabrics are knit to Faceplant’s specifications, then sewn in overseas facilities Faceplant has worked with for years.
How customers actually live in Faceplant
Brigitte's framing for the Summer/Fall 2026 photography: “this is us living. We live in this stuff. It’s that comfortable.” The loungewear customers wear out without anyone noticing.
The Bamboo Sheet Set
Across Tennessee and Kentucky, the single best-selling SKU in the Faceplant catalog is the Bamboo Sheet Set — King, in Light. In Faceplant’s own words: “Sustainably sourced bamboo sheet set with thermoregulating, odor-resistant fibers. Soft, soothing, and perfect for sensitive skin. Deep pockets fit most mattresses.” 100% bamboo rayon, 300 thread count, with Faceplant’s custom-knit finish: “Our 300 thread count silky smooth finish drapes like a dream.”
Bamboo as a sheet fabric behaves differently than cotton. It is moisture-wicking and temperature-regulating by nature — Faceplant frames it as “Goodbye Night Sweats.” It is bacteria- and odor-resistant. It gets softer every wash. And because Faceplant knits its own fabric at a finer denier of yarn rather than buying it on the open market, the set “launders without pilling” — the finish holds up after a year on a customer’s bed.
The King in Light is the most-reordered size-and-color on a gift-store floor in Tennessee and Kentucky. Queen and full sizes available; other colorways include the full Faceplant neutrals palette. It’s the SKU that opens a conversation about the rest of the line.
The Long Lounge Pant
The second bestseller across AmyFay’s territory is the Long Lounge Pant in Black, from the Classic Bamboo core collection. In Faceplant’s own description: “Relax in comfort with our bamboo lounge pants featuring a satin waist, side pockets, and breathable fabric. A classic favorite for everyday ease.”
Classic Bamboo is the iconic Faceplant fabric — 95% bamboo rayon, 5% spandex, the blend Brigitte built the brand around. Faceplant frames it as “our iconic, buttery-soft fabric — naturally breathable and temperature-regulating for better sleep and all-season lounging. Silky smooth with a relaxed, free-flowing drape.” The Long Pant is the product customers buy once, wash twenty times, and come back to buy in a second color. That is where the 63% repeat rate shows up on a wholesale reorder report.
The Full Line
The Faceplant catalog is organized by fabric collection. Each blend is custom-knit to Faceplant’s specifications — the brand’s own framing: “all bamboo fabrics aren’t created equal. Other bamboo brands use fabrics they buy from the open marketplace while we knit our own using a finer denier of yarn.”
Classic Bamboo. 95% bamboo rayon, 5% spandex. The iconic core collection — tops, long lounge pants, short shorts, nightgowns, robes. “Our iconic, buttery-soft fabric — naturally breathable and temperature-regulating.”
Söft Bamboo. 70% bamboo rayon, 30% spandex. A sculpted knit with a velvety-peach hand feel. Holds its shape better than Classic Bamboo while still reading as a luxury loungewear fabric on the body. The new Söft Shrug Shirt and Swing Jacket launch in this fabric.
Linen + Bamboo. 70% bamboo rayon, 30% linen. In Faceplant’s words: “A refined evolution of classic linen. Bamboo softens the natural texture for an elegant, breathable finish that feels authentic, modern, and effortlessly elevated. Grows softer and more luxurious with every wash.” The spring/summer side of the catalog — linen tanks, button-ups, capri pants, shorts.
Mulberry Silk + Modal. 83% modal, 9% mulberry silk, 8% spandex. The silk-infused loungewear drop — silk square-neck tanks, sleeveless shirts, foldover shorts, and the silk eyemask.
Cotton + Bamboo Waffle. 52% cotton, 48% bamboo rayon. The new Waffle Robe collection. Faceplant’s own framing: “Cotton adds structure while bamboo brings softness and breathability. The textured waffle weave enhances airflow and comfort.” Two sizes: S/M and L/XL (L/XL fits the average man).
Lucy Collection (Bamboo + Organic Cotton). 45% bamboo rayon, 55% organic cotton. The everyday loungewear collection that sits between Classic Bamboo and the structured pieces. Long-sleeve button-ups, pants, and layering pieces.
Bamboo Bedding. 100% bamboo rayon, 300 thread count. Sheet sets, pillowcases, duvet covers. This is where the top of the reorder list lives — the Bamboo Sheet Set in King, Queen, and Full.
Plus: plush throws and sweaters, cozy socks, slippers, sandals, silk eyemasks, and capsule/holiday drops. Recent collaborations include Madison Marilla (Netflix’s Love on the Spectrum, Madizen® Red Dress for 2025 holiday) and Elan Bibas (Netflix’s Love Island, SS26 menswear campaign).
Sleep Suite — the bedding line
Only 32% of US adults say they get truly great sleep.
From Faceplant’s Summer/Fall 2026 brand training: “We can change that. Cooling, breathable, and incredibly soft from night one. When you slip into Faceplant’s bedding you can trust, it isn’t just softer — it’s bedding that actually works with your body for deeper, more comfortable sleep.”
It’s why the Bamboo Sheet Set is the number-one reorder across Tennessee and Kentucky — and why the brand’s 63% repeat purchase rate shows up most strongly here.
How Faceplant is made
Faceplant’s own thesis: “Faceplant is where elevated comfort meets everyday luxury. We create loungewear from the world’s finest natural fabric — ultra-soft bamboo, mulberry silk, linen, cotton, and modal — that don’t just feel incredible, but actually support better rest and deeper sleep.” Here’s what that looks like in practice.
Custom-knit fabrics, not open-market. The single most specific thing Faceplant does: rather than buying bamboo fabric on the open marketplace, the brand knits its own at a finer denier of yarn. From the Fabrics page: “similar to higher thread counts in cotton, our process gives Faceplant bamboo fabrics a smoother finish that launders without pilling.” That’s the thing customers feel and retailers notice in the hand of the fabric.
Oeko-Tex® 100 certified. From Faceplant’s About page: “Faceplant meets or exceeds all standards of Oeko-Tex® 100 certification, assuring you that our buttery soft loungewear is free of any harmful substances or chemical traces.” Oeko-Tex 100 is the global standard for textile safety testing — every component tested for harmful substances.
A year of design per piece. “Each Faceplant item is crafted, styled, and presented by our team in Ybor City, Florida. It takes up to a year for our thorough design, sampling, testing and production process ensuring the details in every piece are curated with conscious care and love, just for you.” That’s why the catalog is narrow compared to fast-fashion lines — and why what’s on the rack tends to stay on the rack.
Academy Prep Center of Tampa. Faceplant’s charity partner is a local Tampa non-profit school. In the brand’s words: “We provide scholarship assistance for neighborhood economically disadvantaged students to attend one of the most amazing non-profit schools we’ve ever seen: Academy Prep Center of Tampa. In our neighborhood, the average high school graduation rate is 50%. Academy Prep boasts a 98% graduation rate and 100% of their 2022 alumni are currently attending college or serving in the military.” A local, verifiable commitment — not a headline number.
A four-and-a-half-day work week. From the SF26 retailer deck: “We value balance and well-being, which is why we embrace a flexible 4½-day work week. (We won’t answer on Friday afternoon!)” The kind of small detail that tells retailers how the company actually runs: small team, intentional pace, a voice you can reach by phone.
Where Faceplant shows up beyond retail. Faceplant supplies the loungewear at Waldorf Astoria New York, Four Seasons, Loews, Bellagio, and Ritz Carlton. Those hotel logos live on the About page as third-party credibility proof — when a retailer’s customer recognizes the fabric from a resort stay, the sale is already half made.

What makes Faceplant’s bamboo different from other bamboo loungewear?
In Faceplant’s own words: “All bamboo fabrics aren’t created equal. Other bamboo brands use fabrics they buy from the open marketplace while we knit our own using a finer denier of yarn. Similar to higher thread counts in cotton, our process gives Faceplant bamboo fabrics a smoother finish that launders without pilling.” Every fabric is Oeko-Tex® 100 certified — free of harmful substances and chemical traces. The combination is why 63% of Faceplant customers return to buy again, per the brand’s own retailer-facing data.
What’s a good opening order for a first-time Faceplant account?
Across Tennessee and Kentucky, the two bestsellers are the Bamboo Sheet Set in King, Light and the Classic Bamboo Long Lounge Pant in Black. A strong opening order builds from those two anchors: a small stack of King and Queen sheet sets, Long Lounge Pants in two or three core colors, a handful of kimono tops and robes in Classic Bamboo, and a capsule from whichever seasonal drop (Linen + Bamboo for spring, Waffle Robes for fall) fits the store’s calendar. Email AmyFay to walk the full buying plan.

Other lines I represent in Tennessee and Kentucky that pair well with Faceplant:
LINNEA — Luxury hand-poured candles and diffusers from Carmel, Indiana. The Cashmere candle plus a Faceplant kimono robe is the gift pairing that writes itself.
Cobblestone Living — Italian-made silks, knitwear, handbags, and jewelry. Same customer who invests in premium comfort fabrics buys both silk and bamboo.
Whispering Willow — Natural apothecary from North Carolina. Bamboo sleepwear plus body oils and eye pillows builds a complete self-care corner on a gift-store floor.
