The ORI London Story
ORI London’s story starts with a rainstorm. In 2014, ROKA London co-founder Brett — newly moved to London to be with Emma — got caught in an Oxford Street downpour that soaked everything he was carrying. The soggy walk home was the germ of an idea: a bag that was stylish, functional, and weather-ready all at once. Brett brought more than two decades of fashion and retail experience to the problem, and ROKA London officially launched in 2016.
The name ROKA blends the founders’ surnames — ROsenberg and KAtz — and signals the values the brand was built on: trust, integrity, and a positive outlook on life. The Bantry backpack, the first bag off Brett’s design system, became the flagship and went on to land in thousands of retailers from the United States to Sweden.
ORI London launched in 2020, inspired by Emma and Brett’s first child. The new brand carries on ROKA’s legacy of creating bags that are bold, colorful, and built to endure everyday challenges. ORI’s stated mission: For Everyone. Everyday. Everywhere.
The line is organized around a set of signature silhouettes — Bantry, Canfield, Finchley, Richmond, Belsize — each named for a London neighborhood and each available in a wide range of colorways and recycled materials. The architecture repeats; the colors and finishes rotate with the season.
The Bantry — The Original.
The Bantry is the bag that started ROKA London. It is “the first bag off Brett’s design system” — the one the whole brand was built around after Brett’s 2014 Oxford Street downpour convinced him the category needed a rethink. Light, stylish, weather-ready, and designed to hold up to daily carry.
The Bantry went on to land in thousands of stores from the United States to Sweden. When ORI London launched in 2020 as the US brand of ROKA, the Bantry came with it — the same flagship silhouette, woven from recycled plastic bottles, built to the same standards set in London.
The Bantry is available in a wide range of colorways and recycled materials — recycled nylon, recycled taslon, canvas — so the same silhouette works for a college student, a commuter, or a customer packing for a trip. One shape, many colorways: the ORI architecture in miniature.
The Full Line
The ORI line is built around a set of signature silhouettes, each named for a London neighborhood: Bantry (the flagship backpack), Canfield (backpack), Finchley, Richmond, and Belsize. Every silhouette is available across a wide range of colorways and materials.
The product categories span the daily-carry wardrobe: backpacks (Bantry, Canfield), crossbody bags, slings, totes, wallets, weather-ready umbrellas, and socks. The line rotates seasonally — new colorways for each drop — while the underlying silhouette architecture stays consistent, so a retailer’s shelf remains legible across seasons.
The core materials are recycled nylon and recycled taslon woven from plastic bottles, with canvas options in select silhouettes. Every bag is designed to “blend style, function, and a bit of weather-ready resilience” — the phrase ORI uses itself to describe the design approach that traces back to the original Bantry.

B Corp is a third-party audited standard that measures a company’s social and environmental practices across five impact areas: Governance, Workers, Community, Environment, and Customers. Certification requires published documentation on energy use, waste and water management, worker compensation, diversity, and transparency — plus a legal amendment embedding purpose beyond profit into the company’s own organizational structure. It is not a hang-tag claim.
