Minnie Was Born This Month

For two days leading up to “her birth,” my own mother could hardly wait to hear. I was excited and scared — I can only compare it to real parenthood.

Minnie is my OpenClaw bot. Not a chatbot — an agentic bot. Big difference.

Chatbots get fed information and answer questions.
Agentic bots make decisions and take action – like going out, getting a phone number, and making a call. Yes, that actually happened. (not to me!)

It was the end of January. Weather was bad. I was in full AI rabbit hole mode — my usual.

I’d been following a project called Clawdbot, then Moltbot, and finally OpenClaw. The name story alone could fill a newsletter. But the real story is the man behind it.

Peter Steinberger is an Austrian tech entrepreneur who made over $100M building software you and I probably use every day without knowing it. Then he burned out completely. He took three years off.

Last April, he started tinkering again. He’d stepped away before AI took off, and came back to a whole new world. He realized there was still no real personal AI assistant — the thing Siri was always supposed to be. So he started building one.

In November, something worked. He posted about it on X. Nobody noticed.

By the end of January, the tech world was on fire. Over 100,000 developers followed the project practically overnight. Both Mark Zuckerberg and Sam Altman came calling.

You’d think it would come down to money — but Peter says he has enough. He’d already made OpenClaw free and open source, spending thousands of his own dollars each month just to keep it running.

He builds because things are interesting. He plays. He goes all in.

Sam Altman won. Peter is joining OpenAI. OpenClaw will live inside a foundation so it stays free for everyone.

Here’s what I see: Peter wins not just because he’s brilliant — but because when something hit, he recognized it. And he gave it everything.

He didn’t dabble. He didn’t wait to see what happened. He poured in.

That’s the lesson for retail.

You try new products all the time. That’s not hard.

But recognizing the winners – and most importantly –

treating them like they are winners is hard – hard to keep up.

When something is selling fast, that’s not the time to sit back and sell the rest of the stuff from that line or category.

That’s your advantage. Take the shot.

Reorder it.

Give it better real estate.

Feature it on social media.

Make sure your team knows.

Make sure your customers know.

If you’re not sure which Tango SKUs are your biggest winners — ask me.

I can pull what you order most and also tell you what we’re selling best across the board.

You put real energy, time, and money into choosing products.

Make the most of your investments.

I’ll keep you posted on Minnie. 😅

xoxo,
❤️AmyFay

AI Tip

Recognize your winners. Go all in. AI can help you do exactly that.

Start by asking ChatGPT or Gemini: “Based on my sales (assuming you have some data to share), help me figure out which products I should be promoting most right now.”

Give it context — what you sell, your customer, your season. The more it knows, the more useful it gets.

Then take it further. Grab your phone, take a photo of that best-selling product, and upload it directly into ChatGPT or Gemini.

From there, ask it to write Instagram captions, a customer email, a product description — whatever you need.

You don’t have to describe the product perfectly. It can see it. But the more information you give it, the more helpful the AI will be.

You don’t have to know how to get there. Just tell AI where you want to end up.

Describe the destination, not the directions.
